You really can’t turn anywhere now without seeing Bottomless Brunches being advertised! Another new one to add to the to visit list is Las Iguanas, who have recently launched their brunch menu.
For £24.95 you can pick two courses from the Las Iguanas Bottomless Brunch Menu. With this you can pick from unlimited Brahma Beer or Prosecco. The food menu itself is your usual fair of south American food, with spicy options for those who want a bit of spice! The menu also caters to vegan, veggie and gluten free – just ask your server. We decided to have a gentle approach to Bottomless Brunch on this occasion, both picking an ice cold beer to enjoy at a leisurely pace (they do halves if you ask too – I stuck to halves).
To start I ordered the Dadinhos. These are wonderful pillows of crispy coated cheese served with sticky chilli jam. The saltiness of the cheese was cut through perfectly by the chilli jam, if I’m honest I could’ve had more. Dr W ordered the Chicken Quesadilla. This was filled with spicy chicken, peppers, onion and cheese. It was served with a salsa that had a great kick to it, Dr W gobbled the whole lot up very quickly.
For the main event I picked the Shredded Beef Braised in Chipotle Burrito. This is was stuffed with chipotle rice, refried beans and cheese. Along with a side salad, soured cream, guacamole & roasted tomato salsa. The beef was flavourful and fell apart like slow cooked meat should, I added a bit of hot sauce for a kick. Dr W went for a Cuban Sandwich. This was roast pork belly, pulled pork, Emmental cheese and ham with a sweet mustard and green pickle relish layered in a toasted breakfast muffin. I definitely stole a few of the curly fries Dr W picked to go with his sandwich. Asking Dr W about his sandwich, he said it was a very good Cuban sandwich, the pickles worked really well with the pork and pulled pork. Although if he’d made it himself he would’ve added more cheese!
Compared to other Bottomless Brunches we’ve been on there’s a lot more food available. So if you’re taking it a bit heavier (which this time we definitely weren’t) you have a bit more padding. But even if you have a relaxing one like we did, with a couple of beers, you leaving feeling full and satisfied. As for the service, it was very good and our food/drinks top ups came fairly quickly. However, the brunch menu seems to be new and it only started filling up after we left (2ish). So I am unsure what it would be like on a busy service, although I’d definitely recommend checking it out as it is one of the better Bottomless Brunches we’ve been too!
