An Afternoon of Decadence at Hotel Chocolat | Worcester

Hotel Chocolat is somewhere you go for a treat. Admittedly most of Dr W’s presents involve their chocolates in one way or another. Excitingly the other day I was invited for a tasting session at their Worcester store.

Hotel Chocolat in Worcester is part of the new Cathedral Square complex, an exciting facelift to what was a rather over looked part of our high street. I’m quite excited for the rest to open! Anyway… I was invited down with fellow Worcestershire blogger Pershore Patty to sample a selection of chocolates from the brand new Spirit of Summer collection.

On arrival we were greeted with a sample of the Pink Lemonade from the exciting Chocs-to-Chill Box. I love love love chocolate from the fridge, but I know it loses some of its taste a bit when cold. Chatting with the guys at Hotel Chocolat, this range was created so even when cold they’re super tasty. There is a crisp dark chocolate shell and inside is a melty middle of raspberry, lemon and white chocolate. Sweet and sharp all at the same time – just perfect! FYI this is the store’s current sample, so get down if you want to try before buying!

We were then seated in the comfy downstairs cafe area. Worcester is one of the few Hotel Chocolat’s with a cafe in store. I’d been at Christmas with Dr W for hot chocolates, so I was excited to try more from their cafe! We were passed a tray of colourful summery chocolates. There was a Strawberry Milkshake, a Passion Fruit Cheesecake from the new Summer Dessert Box as well as a Blueberry Cheesecake. All almost too stunning to eat! The fruit used to make the chocolates is all real, the chocolate is of good quality and whilst I was a little chocolated out after, they were all absolutely delicious.

Hotel Chocolat - Salted Caramel and Raspberry Frappe

We also got to check out the Summer Frappe Menu. At ยฃ3.95 you get a big drink with all the trimmings. I must admit something here. It’s not very blogger this… But… This was my first ever Frappe. Oh yeah! I chose the Salted Caramel and Raspberry Frappe. I was mildly concerned it might be too sweet, but actually the sharp raspberry balances the sweet of the salted caramel perfectly. The chocolate cream topping is incredible too. It’s the perfect summer drink!

So as you can see there are some exciting summery additions to the Hotel Chocolat range. I bought Dr W and I a stash of the Chocs to Chill, which I’m saving for my birthday on Friday. I reckon they’ll go well with a bottle of fizz don’t you?!

    Oh this looks amazing. I’m not far from Worcester so I must check out the Hotel Chocolat when I’m next there in a few weeks time.

    I do love hotel chocolat for some really indulgent chocolate so these look lovely. I had a massive easter egg this year which had a box of mixed chocolates at the top and they were so good x

      I have a Hotel Chocolat egg this year and it was insane!!!
