Dessert to Die For at Pirlo’s Dessert Lounge | Birmingham

June 2, 2017

I have to admit I always claim to have a savoury tooth over a sweet one. But last week I might have been proven slightly wrong. I headed down to Pirlo’s Dessert Lounge to check out the menu and celebrate their first birthday with some fellow bloggers.

Pirlo’s Dessert Lounge is a little off the beat and track, but it didn’t stop whilst we were there, showing that the power of word of mouth is strong! I’m hoping after this post you’ll be tempted to head down to Digbeth and check it out.

Pirlos Dessert Parlour - Fruit Smoothies

Pirlos Dessert Parlour - Sundaes

Pirlos Dessert Parlour - Ice Cream Sundaes

We started on the monster, quite literally. The Pirlo’s Monster Sundae, made with chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream with ferrero rocher and chocolate sauce. Oh and oreos too! It’s bloomin’ incredible for £7.50. A perfect dessert sharer for 2-3 of you I think, a bit much for 1! We also tried the Neapolitan Sundae and the Tropical Fruit Twist Sundae. I’m not the biggest fan of ice cream, but the gelato was incredible, soft and flavourful.

Pirlos Dessert Parlour - Big Waffle

Pirlos Dessert Parlour - Chocoholic Crepe

Pirlos Dessert Parlour - Wild One Crepe

Next up we got to try some warm desserts. The Pirlo’s Big Waffle – apologies in advance I don’t and still don’t like waffles, but the crepes were incredible. The Choc o Holic Crepe, was just that, lashings of chocolate sauce, M&Ms, cookies and chocolate ice cream – perfect for any chocaholic! I also loved the Wild One Crepe, packed full of fresh strawberries and raspberries, with chocolate sauce and berry ice cream. The crepes were brilliant, not too thick and perfectly cooked. I really recommend!

Pirlos Dessert Parlour - Red Velvet

Pirlos Dessert Parlour - Red Velvet Cake

Pirlos Dessert Parlour - Milk Chocolate Fondue

Luckily we were just trying testers of each thing- it was getting to be a very sugar filled evening! Next up the wonderful Red Velvet Cake, moist (haha) and the buttercream was seriously tasty. We also checked out the Milk Chocolate Fondue, the only thing I didn’t really get was with all the fresh fruit, why tinned pineapple? Other than that, it was a great date night sharer!

Overall Pirlo’s have a great selection on offer (the menu is massive). I really do suggest checking it out if you fancy trying something different restaurant wise! Are you a dessert fan? Would you check out Pirlo’s Dessert Parlour? Let me know in the comments,

These desserts look amazing! I love the idea of a dessert parlour for when you don’t want a proper meal or to go to the pub. x
