When an email lands in your inbox asking you if you’d like to go on a Thames River Cruise with a bunch of bloggers, it’s hard to say no, even if you live a few hundred miles away. Not only do I get to spend an evening gossiping with Charlie again, this time I get to see the sights from a different angle.
I always say I never want to live in London I always love to visit, although I stay well clear of touristy places. My family are south London based and I’ve visited at least 4-5 times a year since I can remember, so London does have a place in my heart. Just don’t get me started on house prices. Convincing myself I wanted to go I made the plans to stay at my aunt and uncles (in which I inevitably also panicked over night buses home). Then started the couple of weeks agonising over a dress, in the end I went with an old favourite, my Cherry Blossom dress from Oasis.
Prior to boarding our Thames River Cruise, Charlie and I met up for prosecco and lots of gossiping. Our mutual love for Nine Inch Nails and amazing handbags makes it feel like I’ve known Charlie forever!
When we finally arrived at Temple Pier to me greeted by a mass of wonderfully dressed up bloggers. I got to meet Emma (who we’d convinced to come last minute #TeamEmma) and the lovely Katy was there too! Eventually we were let on board and our River Cruise began… Or shall I say our time to get snap happy with the sights of London began! Spending a bit of time on deck to take pics was great, but it was very windy and eventually got a bit chilly so we headed inside for drinks.
During the course of the evening we were invited to play a few games. Admittedly Charlie and I stuck to black jack, but it was great fun to play with our fake money! I actually made a few hundred fake quid, but sadly not enough to win a prize. We were also treated to slight of hand tricks from the wonderful magician Pete. He blew our minds a few times- I’ve never seen a group of bloggers look so confused!
It was such a fab night and I’d definitely recommend anyone to try out a Thames River Cruise, especially an evening one! Thank you to Best British Bloggers for organising 🙂
P.S. Ladbrokes sponsored the evening, but I will not endorse gambling of the real variety to anyone. Please be gambling aware and if you think you have a problem please check out this website.
