The other week I was invited along with some other Manchester bloggers to the Umberto Giannini Salon at Harvey Nichols to see what all the fuss is about.
The salon itself is tucked away at the back of Harvey Nics beauty floor, blink and you’d miss it or you probably just don’t know it’s there. Shown where to go, we were greeted by fizz and macarons (passion fruit and lemon- delicious!) We then got chatting with the salon manager Ben, who introduced us to some of his team!
Ben explained that he has many years experience under his belt and has even done a couple of London Fashion Weeks, Anthony (colourist and trainer) has 13 years experience and a wealth of teaching experience too, and Clare the Umberto Giannini floor manager has a wealth of marketing experience of over 20 years and helped organise the awesome event we attended.
Ben told us that Umberto Giannini is all about the standard of service, originally based in the Midlands (can’t believe I didn’t know this being a Midlands girl), the Manchester salon is the furthest north salon in the chain. He also pointed out that being based in Harvey Nics has helped up the standard, with a dedicated to service that covers 7 days a week service. The staff are focussed on training, going to as many courses as they can (L’Oreal training for colours) and because of this they have been involved in the promotion of Umberto Giannini and the SS16 hair styles, which we got a sneaky peek of! Think classic curls, tussled bobs and hair contouring… It looks like 2016 will be interesting for hair 🙂
With a haircut with one of the team’s talented graduates coming in at £36.50, you’d be mad in thinking that you just have to be a WAG to have your hair cut at Umberto Giannini. The team also have a dry bar available at £25, so you can get ready for an evening on the town. The salon also prides itself on being able to sort out anything during your experience, booking a VIP area for those who require the privacy, sorting your make up out after your hair cut for that night out and even ordering food from the restaurant they can do it (for a cost obviously…) For the evening, as I knew I was attending a launch party later on, I opted for some curls and volume to be put in my hair, thank you Ben for making my evening more fun- there’s nothing like getting your hair done is there?
I’d just like to thank the guys at Umberto for the invite to come on down, I loved the salon and I can’t wait to come back for more styling once my hair has grown out a little more!
P.S. * I was invited to this event, as ever all opinions are my own.
