Last week I was invited along to the My Bag SS16 Preview at the wonderful venue of Artisan, in the trendy Spinningfields area of Manchester. Now handbags are truly my thing, so I was very excited for this event.
Upon arrival we were treated to some wonderful cocktails, although I didn’t catch their name, they were lovely and refreshing, not too sweet at all. There were also sliders and pizzas to nibble on too.
So as you guessed we were here to talk bags and bags we did. The My Bag SS16 collections were on display and we could peruse at our leisure, whilst also catching up with some blogger friends. I found some absolute faves within moments and am now desperate to add to my 70 strong handbag collection. Yes I have issues. No I am not a shoe person. I am definitely a bag person. I don’t go round staring at feet, but a wonderful handbag I will comment on within seconds. The spring colours were very much centred around pastels, but there were the odd one or two stand out bags in brighter colours and metallics.
My favourites were the Karl Lagerfeld bags by far, I love the shape of the tote style one and the cute designs are just that! The Grafea rucksacks were beautiful, although I’m not sure I would ever use one and I think the cat would shred the pom poms! I did love the Ted Baker bags, but that’s because they were of a decent size too- bigger is definitely better 😉 Also the Lulu Guinness bags were cute, just not nearly big enough for me and the Lipstick clutch was a little impractical, many of us failed to even fit an iPhone in one… We joked that it would be a great, but expensive make up brush holder!! I do love that Lulu has embraced the pastels of SS16 though, very different to her usual brightly coloured clutches.
Whilst I loved all those bags, one of my favourite bags from my collection is my vintage gold bag, in here lives everything I need! From my wallet, to my organiser, as well as my beloved Deathly Hallows journal. given the metallics featured in SS16 my bag from 2 years ago is now back in fashion! Personally hangbags are very important to me as I feel they finish an outfit off, and I hope I can invest in a new one for my collection from My Bag soon… Just need to get saving those pennies for one 🙂
So what’s your favourite from the My Bag collection? Are you a bag or a shoe person? Let me know in the comments,
P.S. I was invited to this event, as ever all opinions are my own.
