So yesterday I was chatting about my new Christmas party dress, so today I thought I’d share with you my Christmas time make up routine and what is currently in my make up bag!
In my wonderful The White Company* Pebblegrain Leather Make Up bag this Christmas I have my current favourite make up items. First up I swear by YSL Fusion Ink– applied by brush- and I wear NARS Light Optimising Primer beneath. If I need too (not pictured) I use MAC Blot Powder in light to set it all. I love this foundation, not only is it very light and not heavy on my skin at all, it lasts hours. It really is the best foundation I’ve ever purchased!
Next up… I recently treated myself to the YSL Fall ’15 Couture Palette, which I instantly fell in love with when saw it in Boots! The colours are extremely pigmented and you need very little to make it quite dark, you get an ashen gold shadow, a dirty red burgundy, lit with a light lilac, a dark plum and a chocolate brown. As I don’t use eye liner so I like to use the chocolate brown around my top and bottom eye line and it shows up really well. I like using the MAC 217 brush to blend the colours as well. The gold is wonderfully versatile too, you can dab the glitter over the top of your look, or build it up to just using the gold alone- perfect for Christmas! I finish my eyes with Benefit’s Roller Lash, I’m not going to review this here, but I do find it clumps a little so I have to use an eyelash comb…
Lastly, I then finish my look with the sheer MAC lipstick in See Sheer, I bought this ages ago but hardly ever wear it. It’s quite a bright lip stick, but I really like the shimmer to it, perfect for my Christmas party look!
I do love my look, but I do need to be a bit more daring with my eyeshadow I think, it’s also surprisingly hard to show eye make up off when you wear glasses! I think I’ll have to get practicing before my Christmas party next month, if you know any good eye shadow tutorials, let me know in the comments 🙂
What’s your favourite winter palette? What make up do you wear at this time of year? Let me know in the comments,
P.S. * PR sample.
