Resolution Run 10k | Race Recap

The weekend saw Dr C and I take to Heaton Park for our first 10k of the year, The Resolution Run for the Stroke Association. We’re doing quite a few this year, with me doing a few in particular for Manchester Mind. Recently our training hadn’t quite gone to plan but The Resolution Run promised to be an un-timed fun run, perfect for both of us just get out and have some fun 🙂Before_Res Run 10k_Miss Pond This is just before we set off, it was raining but not too bad! Look at our awesome leggings, I especially love my Adidas Originals Tokyo Skyline print leggings. Luckily (well I think so anyway) there were no pictures of us mid-run, we were soaked and possibly very grumpy looking, which is why we probably missed the photographer’s gaze. The rain actually got worse as we got closer to the end of the race… But it was great to finish the whole thing though despite looking like drowned rats in our after picture 🙂After_Res Run 10k_Miss PondAfterwards we went to the cafe at Heaton Park to mainly warm back up, but also to refuel. As much as the cake looked delicious, it was a bacon sandwich and cup of tea that won me over in the end- I needed something a bit more warming! After a rest, we hopped back on the tram and headed home. I’d just like to say thanks to The Stroke Association for organising a wonderful race, I’d definitely recommend the Resolution Run to anyone.Post Race Food_Res Run 10k_Miss PondHave you run a race recently? Congratulations on the run! 🙂 (…and that cake looks amazing!).

I’ve decided to start running again – I’m nervous about it as I wasn’t a particularly confident runner the first time round! Eep!

Thank you 🙂 I do look back at the cake and regret not getting any, but I do struggle with sweet things after exercise (why I don’t use protein shakes etc!)

I’m far from a confident runner, I get angry, grumpy, tell myself off etc! Just get out there and keep on going x

Well done on your race! I’m nowhere near motivated enough to do anything like this I’m afraid. I’d be the one sat in the cafe eating all the cake 🙂
Which other ones are you running this year?
    Jen x

Thank you 🙂 I’m sure you could do it! I’m running the MCR 10k, forever MCR 10k and salford 10k. But I also have a few 5ks slotted in and a 10 mile race…! x

Congrats on the race! Good to see it was such a great cause. I’ve always considered doing the Race for Life (but walking it!) to raise some money for charity. Also the Santa Dash in Liverpool looks like such good fun.

Thank you! Ooh I enjoy race for life 🙂 I’ve not done a santa dash yet coz we’re usually in Scotland when they’re on, but this year I may get a chance 🙂

Great job, props to you! And how nice to have some tea afterwards to warm up, sounds very cozy. 🙂

Thank you 🙂 Tea is the best post-race drink after beer… But it was too cold for beer 😉
