Today I’m back with another 5 Happy Things. I had a restful Christmas break, which was much needed. After some rubbish news prior to Christmas, I found writing this post really helpful.
Reminding myself of the positives as well as joining in with #TodayImGrateful on Twitter have both really helped me. Not forgetting the continuing support of my partner, family and close friends as well. It’s seriously been needed lately and I’m truly grateful for them. So here are my 5 Happy Things…
#1- My Blog’s Third Birthday!
I can’t believe my little blog is 3 years old. I started it on a whim and had no idea what would come from it. I’m very lucky to have had some awesome opportunities arise. I think most of all what is most awesome, are the people I’ve met along the way. Some incredible bloggers, incredible brands and amazing PRs I’ve worked with. Onwards and upwards for 2017 please?!
#2- Family Time
I spent Christmas mainly with family and keeping life to myself. It was much needed, after such a mad busy 2016 I needed a rest. I feel recharged, loved and happy. Family is so important to me, and it was great to spend New Year’s Eve drinking gin with my parents and watching films. Just wonderful.
#3- Sunny Days
I managed a few long walks along the river by myself of Christmas. It was chilly, but wonderful weather and I couldn’t just stay inside. I loved how still the river was, perfect reflections of the Worcester skyline. I also fed the swans and just enjoyed the outdoor time. I spend a lot of my time tucked away in an office at work, so I made the most of it.
#4- Time Off
As I said before, the time off over Christmas was wonderful. I manage quite a large clinical study in my job and it’s very demanding. I reached Christmas having learnt the ropes and was feeling burnt out from the whole process. I’m starting my new year feeling confident in my work but also very much relaxed and I’m not stressing so much.
#5- The New Year
A new year a new start? Well I’m not sure about the new start, I did that last year with moving and everything. I’m happy we’re starting the new year without the stress we started 2015 with. Both of us are happy in our jobs and both of us have our PhDs now. I just can’t think of anything better. I can now start planning our next adventures, 2017 and 2018 have some amazing things in the pipeline.
