5 Happy Things #30 | Homeowners Edition

May 8, 2018

Ok, huge apologies here. I really was intending on lining up some posts for you whilst we moved. But I just didn’t get round to it. Then we moved and the exhaustion hit. Then we had plans and the weather was good. Next thing I know, no blog posts for over a week! Sorry!

So I’m back in my favourite way, sharing with you my 5 Happy Things. Because having over a week off work has led to some pretty happy things going on…

#1 We’re Homeowners – Yay!

Holy cr*p we’re homeowners now! I’m not sure where the last 3 and a bit months have gone since we decided to reserve our home with St Modwen Homes. SO much has happened. But here we are, almost two weeks into house life. We’ve surprisingly motored on with unpacking and the house looks like a home already. Yes decor wise we have a long way to go, but it’s definitely looking like ours rather than a stark new build! When we’ve tidied a bit more I will share some pics of our new pad on here.

#2 House Warming(s)

With a new house comes the excuse to celebrate owning it over and over again! We had a first night Chinese and Fizz with Mummy Pond (who helped us move and was brilliant so she needed spoiling!) but then we’ve managed to celebrate a few more times since. We have had two BBQs (which is one more than last year already) and some of our favourite friends come to stay already. Yup, we managed to get a bed in the guest bedroom that quickly!

#3 Croques and Fizz

After a few manic days of trying to make the house more homely we finally escaped. We headed to Birmingham for more Croques with Cafe Rouge. This time they invited us along to try the entire Croque menu (so so so much food) teamed with Piper Heidsieck Champagne, which was oh so naughty. Dr W’s favourite was still the Club Croque, but I think the Mushroom Croque ended up becoming mine. I’ll be sharing more on the entire range soon!

#4 Eastnor Castle Chilli Festival

After our amazing time last year at the Eastnor Castle Chilli Festival we ventured back. This year was dramatically different to last year weather wise! I’m so glad we booked tickets in advance, because it was sold out before we even arrived on the Sunday. Aside from making sure I reapplied my sunscreen often, we checked out all the offerings and even some of the cookery demos. I’m going to share more in the blog post later this week, so do check back!

#5 Sunny Days

Oh wow, what did we do to deserve such a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend?! We were so lucky to be spoilt with wonderful weather. We wandered around the countryside near us, ate plenty of ice creams and I didn’t get sunburnt. Remember sunscreen and to reapply it folks! It was just such a wonderful weekend and the perfect ending to my holiday from work.

So what’s been making you happy lately? Let me know in the comments,

What did we do to deserve such a glorious bank holiday weekend? This gloomy weather makes a little bit of sun well worth it. Also congratulations on your move I hope that your new home is all that you desire
