Last weekend was an exciting one. I headed up to Leeds for a weekend of celebrating the Bloggers Blog Awards with some of my favourite people!
I got shortlisted for a Bloggers Blog Award, which I totally didn’t expect. I wasn’t going to go, but I was convinced by my friend Michelle that I should. Charlie, Katy and Emma were also nominated for awards. They travelled up from London for what turned out to be a pretty epic girly weekend!
Skater Dress- New Look
Cardigan – New Look
Shoes – Clarks
Personalised Phone Case – Go Customized
I have to admit I stressed a lot about my outfit. I blame out Whatsapp group that started a month before (to sort travel etc). Katy started talking outfits and I went into meltdown. I don’t do fashion posts that much and I’m by no means a fashion blogger. And other bloggers make it look so easy! So yes, confidence wise I was scared. But I found this awesome dress from New Look (my go too place) and it was a marriage made in heaven.
For the occasion I got sent a wonderful custom phone case from Go Customized. They make all sorts of iPhone cases, many perfect for bloggers. Ordering the wrong size (yes I’m stupid and forgot I have a 6S Plus) meant I stole Michelle’s phone for the outfit pics occasion. But yes, it’s a wonderful case and I’m Michelle is making the most of it. I’m now swiftly ordering myself a different custom case that’s the right size…!
Now back to the awards…
They were set in the perfect venue for bloggers, Canal Mills in Leeds. All those brick walls, balloons and £15 prosecco made for lots of fun outfit pics. There were wonderful cupcakes and a raffle to raise money for a local animal charity. There was lots to keep us busy, but I think most of us just spent the afternoon talking!
I have to admit it was a bit mad being in a room full of lots of insanely good bloggers. I felt a bit over whelmed if I’m honest, my blog’s just a small bit of the internet really. I got quite nervous at the start and clung to Emma, but we got there in the end. It was great to spend time with the girls and I got to meet two of my favourite bloggers Alice and Dee.
Katy won both of her awards (legend), Emma got highly commended in her category (so deserved) and Mike won best food blog (also so deserved- his baking is just one reason why!) I also discovered some new blogs (to me) from the winners so do check out the Bloggers Blog Awards website for links.
I just want to say thanks to Hayley for organising the awards. She organised them all by herself and did a great job. Thanks Hayley! I can’t wait to get involved again next year. Also thanks to everyone who nominated me and voted for me. I promise to keep on sharing my recipes!
