Date Night is something that has a prominent place in Dr W and I’s work week calendar. We both have very busy jobs and can’t always spend much of our evenings together as we work different hours.
For us date night is about switching our phones off, taking some time for each other and catching up. It’s often difficult to get a meaningful conversation in mid week when we’re both a bit fraught from the day job. It’s much easier to sofa burrito in front of the telly. Our official date night’s can be spent at home, but more than likely we head out into Worcester or Birmingham to grab some food and drinks. However, we are currently trying to save for a house and a few other things. So we try and keep date nights on the less expensive side and this is where tastecard has come in handy.
tastecard offer 50% off or two-for-one deals means that our perfect date nights are that little bit cheaper. Using your tastecard is simple, you download the app or use the website to search for deals in your area or the area where you are heading to for date night. Some restaurants will need you to book in advance to use it, others don’t, be sure to check the conditions of use. It’s useful as we tend to plan date night in advance anyway, where we live the restaurants are bookings only Friday/Saturday.
The best thing is though, lots of big chains use tastecard, but looking at offers near me, a lot of local restaurants do too. There’s a real variety on there. Some places even offer deals on take out – perfect for lazy date nights in front of the telly- just order and pick up on your way home! There is an upfront fee for your card (£29.99), but by the time you’ve used it a couple of times you will have accrued the money back in savings. Sometimes Dr W and I are put off the big chains as they can be expensive. So we were quite glad to see Pizza Express on the list, who have 2-4-1 as their offer, we headed there for one date night and had a great time.
Have you used tastecard before? What’s your perfect date night? Let me know in the comments,
