Summer Cocktails with Fentimans HOB Syrups

July 12, 2017

It feels like the first proper summer in ages this year doesn’t it?! With the warm weather not ending (oh yeah) I am in favour of a summery drink to cool down. Recently I was sent some fun ingredients from Fentimans to get creative.

Fentimans have released a range of syrups made with all natural extracts called House of Broughton. This is an exciting range of flavoured syrups that can enhance your drinks – cocktails or mocktails (they are alcohol free). I was sent the raspberry and cucumber syrups to try. Now I am allergic to cucumber… So I experimented with Mummy Pond for this one and kept to the raspberry myself – the cucumber drink below is her recipe!

Summer Cocktails with Fentimans and HOB Syrups

Summer Cocktail Recipes with Fentimans

Fentimans Rose Lemonade and Cucumber HOB Syrups

Boozy Rose Lemonade and Cucumber

  • 50ml Gin (we used a botanical gin, Conker, I think a floral gin is best in this recipe)
  • 15ml HOB Syrups cucumber flavour
  • Slices of lime
  • Fentimans Rose Lemonade
  • Plenty of crushed ice

Fill your glass half way with crushed ice, pour in the gin, the cucumber syrup and add a couple of slices of ice. Stir vigorously with a bar spoon and add another couple of spoonfuls of crushed ice. Top with Fentimans Rose Lemonade, add a straw and a stirrer – Enjoy!

Summer Cocktails with Fentimans Soda Water

Fentimans Soda Water and Raspberry HOB Syrups

Summer Raspberry Gin Fizz

  • 50ml Gin (we used Conker again here, you could go with a more citrus gin like Silent Pool or a London dry though)
  • 15ml HOB Syrups raspberry flavour
  • Slices of lemon
  • Raspberries
  • Fentimans Soda Water
  • Plenty of crushed ice

Fill the glass almost two thirds with crushed ice. Pour in the raspberry syrup and gin, top with soda water. Serve with a stirrer, a straw, some slices of lemon and some fresh raspberries. This one is particularly refreshing!

I’m hoping I’ve shared simple enough cocktails recipes that you can have a go making them for yourself! I also think that both would work (without the addition of gin) as mocktails.

Have you tried out HOB Syrups yet? What’s your favourite summer cocktail/mocktail? Let me know in the comments,

Ooh, they look and sound delicious! I do love a Fentman’s but never thought about making them into cocktails. Good idea! Sitting at my desk right now in the warm with a cup of tea, I definitely think I would swap for either of your cocktails.

The rose lemonade goes wonderfully with gin.

Rose lemonade and cucumber? Sounds amazing!! I adore Fentiman’s drinks. They’re absolutely gorgous and perfect for cocktails.

Thank you! Definitely very summery. I couldn’t have the cucumber but my mum recommends.
