Adding Fun to Planning My Week with Rowntree’s

July 18, 2017

Every Sunday I sit down and plan out the week. I know it sounds a bit overkill, but with our busy schedules not over-lapping most of the time, it’s easy to see what’s going on when it’s all written down. To take some of the seriousness of it away, this week I enjoyed some new treats from Rowntree’s whilst planning.

Rowntree’s have released a 30% less sugar version of their popular Randoms and Fruit Pastilles sweets. They offer the same flavour but with a little less of the white stuff, sugar. Although I’m not one for sugar bashing, one for everything in moderation and all that. But if you are being sugar conscious these do taste better than sugar free alternatives!
Planning my week with Rowntrees

When I sit down to plan the week’s meals and shopping I make myself a giant brew and get comfy. I go over our diaries and calendar to make sure I’m not forgetting an event. I hate wasting food, so I cater our food shop to the week ahead. (I’m aware my diary page isn’t of this week but I can’t show off all my work related stuff!)

Reduced Sugar Rowntrees

This week I also put Ru Paul’s Drag Race on the TV whilst I tucked into my sweets and sipped on my brew. This was fairly distracting (haha!) and it took me a little longer to plan things than usual….!

For the week’s food I grabbed some of my favourite recipe books off the shelf for food ideas. Ruby Tandoh’s Flavour and John Torode’s My Kind of Food are both brilliant books focussing on food as an enjoyment and a reason to come together. I think that’s why I like them so much, also the recipes are simple and so tasty.

Planning my week sweeties

I did enjoy my Rowntree’s treat whilst planning, I probably won’t do that every week… but it was nice to enjoy some sweet treats with my cuppa!

Have you tried the new Rowntree’s 30% less sugar sweets? What’s your weekly routine? Do you plan your meals like me? Let me know in the comments,

These would be a perfect treat for my partner he is such a sugar addict, he has THREE in his coffee.

    Thanks for posting

I haven’t tried these but I do plan my weeks like you. With four schedules it’s easy to get in a pickle!

They are the best sweeties – I love the goo filled randoms.

Sounds great. I like the less sugar versions, but I’m yet to try these. Planning sounds great too, even though it might be a little boring to do it.

It can be a bit tiresome, but it makes my week so much easier 🙂

I love some of the American sweets, I’m glad they’re getting easier to get hold of over here now 🙂
