Chez Mal at Manchester Malmaison Winter Menu | Review

November 7, 2017

After the fantastic meal she had at Chez Mal at Manchester Malmaison last time. Ms M was delighted to be invited back to review the new winter menu! So, how did it go?

Over to Ms M… I was looking forward to trying out the new menu. We had such a wonderful time at Chez Mal in Manchester Malmaison on our last visit. The new menu looked perfect for winter, so what did we try out…

Chez Mal Malmaison Manchester Meat Platter

Chez Mal Malmaison Manchester Creamy Sweet Potato and Coconut Soup

To start, Mr C had the Sweet Potato and Coconut Soup and I had the Meat Platter – both were delicious. The soup was beautifully creamy, definitely one I will be trying to recreate at home. The meat platter came with a delightful side of truffle mash which I really enjoyed (FYI, really easy to recreate at home!) As expected, there was lots of meat and lots of mash, what more could you want? The perfect comforting winter starter.

For mains, I had the Signature Steak with peppercorn sauce and Mr C had the Chicken Tikka Masala Skewers. The steak was amazing – as one of Chez Mal’s main dishes, I can say I was not at all disappointed! I had my steak with mushrooms and truffle fries – both great accompaniments! (Yes, I am a huge fan of truffle – loving this trend!). Mr C’s chicken tikka was presented beautifully and for a chicken tikka, had a surprising kick to it – for someone who really can’t handle their spice, I really enjoyed it!

We then moved on to the last course, tummies full, but not one to say no we went for it, but Mr C did not! For dessert, I had the Valrhona Chocolate Pavé which comes with salted caramel ice cream and caramel sauce. As a chocoholic, I loved it, but I’ll leave it up to you to find out just how good it is.

Overall

All in all, a fabulous menu and I look forward to seeing how they develop it in the future. We also had a fabulous waitress, so a huge shout out for Guga – she really helped make the evening fantastic!

Have you tried out Chez Mal in Manchester Malmaison? What would you order? Let me know in the comments,
