Dog Bowl Manchester | Review

September 28, 2016

The other weekend I headed back up to Manchester (more on that soon I promise). During my weekend up north I got to check out the new(ish) menu at Dog Bowl Manchester.

After a long day walking round Tatton Park Ms M and I were in the need for some food. So we headed to Dog Bowl Manchester for our dinner. Minus the bowling as we were both a bit knackered.

The Mains

It took us a while to pick what we wanted, there were so many wonderful sounding dishes on the menu. Both Ms M and I are massive junk food fans, so yeah… Eventually we decided that Ms M should have the Brisket Burger and me the Snoop Dog Hot Dog

The Brisket Burger was full of rich, melt in your mouth brisket. It came with slaw and fries. Ms M enjoyed it very much, especially the BBQ sauce the brisket was covered in.

The Snoop Dog is a hot dog covered in mac n cheese and chunks of beef patty. It’s rather ridiculous, but pretty delicious all the same. The mac n cheese was wonderfully cheesy and complimented the sausage perfectly. Again this came with fries.

The Sides

Thinking we’d not ordered enough for our dinner we ordered sides. Ms M ordered the Whole Hog Fries, a pretty gigantic piggy affair. Pulled pork, bacon AND crackling. But my they were pretty good. I ordered Tater Tots as I loved them in the States so had to have them again. Dog Bowl were pretty awesome and gave us plenty of condiments for our sides.

The Drinks

I have to admit I didn’t feel like drinking so stuck to the diet coke! But Ms M couldn’t take her eyes off this gin cocktail on the menu. The Gin and Spare, which was a wonderfully citrus and fresh cocktail. With Portobello Road Gin, lemon and mint. It was pretty tasty, I did get a little sip…

Overall

So if you’re after American junk food then Dog Bowl in Manchester is the one for you. A menu that caters for most junk cravings and the veggies are catered for too. There are food and bowling deals, so do check out their website for details on this. We had a great time and the service was pretty good too. Next time I think we’ll add bowling to our evening.

Have you been to Dog Bowl? What would you pick? Let me know in the comments,

Those loaded fries may be the best thing I have ever seen, I would probably drive to Manchester for those!
