Mocktail Recipes with Appletiser

November 2, 2015

Now I’m not going to lie here but my attempt at going sober in October did not go to plan. But, even though I’ve still had a drink here and there I’ve still tried reduce my alcohol intake. Thanks to Appletiser* I got to try making some of my own different mocktail recipes.

Elderflower and Appletiser Fizz

I started off by making a spin on a gin cocktail I like, plus I know elderflower and apple work really well together from a cordial we used to make when I was a kid.

  • 200ml Appletiser Original
  • 25ml Elderflower Cordial
  • Lemon slices
  • Plenty of Cubed Ice

Fill your tumbler with ice, pour over the elderflower cordial and top with the Appletiser. Squeeze the lemon wedge into the drink then add in. Enjoy!

Appletiser Bramble

Continuing with the gin replacement theme, I decided to try making a mock Bramble, I think I enjoyed this one the most, it was very refreshing and even Mr W loved it!

  • 200ml Apple and Blackcurrant Appletiser
  • 3-4 Blackberries
  • 1/2 Lemon and a lemon wedge
  • Plenty of Crushed Ice

Fill your tumbler a third of the way with crushed ice, get a spoon and crush some blackberries into the ice and squeeze half a lemon over, stir with the spoon. Then top with the Apple and Blackcurrant Appletiser, be careful when pouring- the crushed ice causes loads of bubbles. Garnish with blackberries and a lemon wedge, and enjoy!

I really enjoyed these mocktails, it’s definitely shown me I can make interesting drinks without the aid of alcohol.

What do you think of mocktails? Are you an Appletiser fan? Let me know in the comments,

I’m really trying to cut down on my drinking as well but I’m struggling to find things that aren’t to sweet or acidic. Does Appletiser taste like appley tonic water?

It tastes like fizzy apple juice, it’s not watered down that much but it’s not overly sweet. Definitely worth trying out, less sweeter than a j2o!

I love Appletiser, reminds me of pretending to be grown up when I was too young to drink! Like the idea of pairing it with Elderflower x

I’d love the Appletiser Bramble. It looks great, I’d like to add a splash of vodka with mine though 😉 x

I’d definitely add gin (not a vodka fan), but it’s good to have an alcohol free evening here and there 😉 x
