Did you know that well over 3,500,000,000 sandwiches are purchased from UK retail or catering outlets each year?! It turns out Britain is sandwich mad. Today my ode to the sandwich is my Snowdonia Cheese, Avocado and Chicken Sandwich.
You may have noticed a theme with my Sandwich Week posts. But when Snowdonia Cheese approached me to work with them I couldn’t say no. I remember trying their cheese when I was a lot younger at the Malvern Show and various food festivals. But now you can get their cheese, which started production in 2001, in mainstream supermarkets. And the range is incredible and well worth trying if you haven’t already.
I must admit I am really getting into British Sandwich Week! So I wanted to make something different for this sandwich. This (believe it or not) isn’t something I would normally make. But I felt like putting avo in a sandwich for lunch rather than for breakfast. I thought it would go really well with the Garlic and Herbs Snowdonia Cheese and some chicken.
- 2 Slices of bread
- Garlic & Herb Snowdonia Cheese
- 1/2 an Avocado
- Leftover roast chicken
- Olive spread
- Make a sandwich!
- Spread the olive spread on the bread.
- Add the cheese on the bottom layer, then the chicken and finish with the avocado.
- Slice in half, serve!
- Again veggies, swap out the chicken for your favourite meat substitute!
I shared half of this sandwich with Dr W and he found it super tasty. I’m now converted to avocado in sandwiches. I have learnt an avocado is not just for brunch, it’s for any meal!
So would you try your hand at making my Snowdonia Cheese, Avocado and Chicken Sandwich? What’s your favourite kind of sandwich? Let me know in the comments,
P.S. Post in collaboration with Snowdonia Cheese Company. All words, photos and opinions are my own.
