The SBLT: Snowdonia Cheese, Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato Sandwich | British Sandwich Week

May 21, 2018

British Sandwich Week is a week-long celebration of the greatest food to go and quite possibly my favourite lunch item, the Sandwich. Today I’m sharing a creation of mine, The SBLT: Snowdonia Cheese, Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato Sandwich!

Just to let you know that British Sandwich Week runs from 20th – 26th May 2018. This week I’m going to be sharing some delicious sandwich ideas with you, so you can have an awesome lunchbox. My first share being my SBLT! Using the amazing Snowdonia Cheese Company Smoked Mature Cheddar I made this epic sandwich for Dr W and I. Hint: Vegetarians just switch the bacon for veggie bacon.

So The SBLT, it’s a wonderful sandwich filled with Snowdonia Cheese Smoked Mature Cheddar, Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato. It’s fairly simple really… Two slices of fluffy Tiger bread, buttered then cheese. On to which I layered the lettuce and tomato. Then finally the bacon and some mayonnaise. Pop the top on then squish down hard on the sandwich and slice in half.

This sandwich was one of the first things to be made in my wonderful new kitchen. We needed something simple but tasty to eat and this was the perfect lunch. I must admit it was just what we needed after a busy morning of unpacking boxes. It filled us up for the afternoon ahead! I’ve been so excited to have fun in the kitchen again. I can’t wait to give you a bit of a tour of the house and kitchen. We still have a few more things to sort out and then I’ll take some pics to show you all!

This cheese sounds absolutely amazing – I’ve been really struggling to find decent cheese recently (without spending a fortune in an actual cheese shop!) so I’ll be hunting this down…

Have you tried the “black bomber” cheese by snowdonia? They make it not far from where I live. If you like cheese, make sure you try it if you havent. It will most definitely blow your socks off haha! Very strong!

When I was a kid, I came up with a concoction of a sandwich. Cheese, jam and cucumber. I STILL eat it to this day! So many people are like eeeeeeew what the heck. But don’t knock it until you’ve tried it haha!

Yes I have! It’s one of our favourites 🙂 Your concoction sounds as barmy as my OHs fave – peanut butter and cheddar!

I love the idea of National Sandwich Week. You can’t beat some yummy cheese!

Did not know British Sandwich Week was a thing! This wouldn’t have been my first choice since I’m a veggie but I do love a good (veggie) sarnie!

As I suggested you could use a veggie alternative 🙂
