I got an email a couple of weeks ago from Escape Hunt. They were offering to lock me in a room for an hour or so. The aim of the game, to see if some of my friends and I could escape from that room. Cue mild panic and jokes about needing supplies because we’d be stuck in there forever!
None of us had been to an escape adventure before so we didn’t really now what to expect. Apart from the whole being locked in a room lark…. So let’s wind forward to the day of. We agree to meet outside at 1. However, finding the entrance alludes George, Laura and I… Having to text Fay, and doing several laps of the building before we get to the entrance. Given this situation the whole afternoon was going to bode well…
We got in (eventually) and got introduced to our games master Robert. A really friendly chap, who was very encouraging of us despite us telling him we got lost before we even started. Our Escape Hunt was based on World War 2, for me I wasn’t sure about this but I ended up enjoying it. I shan’t say more, but as you can gather from our arrival at the event, we didn’t escape from the room. We got Robert to explain why, kicking ourselves that it had been so simple! So we consoled ourselves with a glass of fizz, before heading off for a late lunch (the less we talk about our failure trying to exit the building the better). There’s another room at Escape Hunt Birmingham and we’re already thinking of checking it out.
Have you been to Escape Hunt? How do you reckon you would do? Let me know in the comments,
P.S. We were invited to Escape Hunt for an honest review of our experiences. We may have failed but we still enjoyed ourselves.
P.P.S. Escape Hunt is located at 120-122 Corporation St, Birmingham B4 6SX.
