Aside from the freak warmth that Storm Callum brought with him, it is autumn. This means it’s time for cooler mornings and those lovely cold and bright sunny days. On a recent Sunday Lunch Date I had the excuse to embrace autumn with my outfit.
Given that it was 1o degrees and not really due to warm up very much I chose to wear layer up my outfit and give my brand new M&S boots an outing. I was only supposed to be going to M&S to buy the skinny black jeans (also featuring in this post) but I couldn’t walk away from these boots. Part of me is regretting not buying the grey version of them! Sorry there’s not closer up pics of the boots, I’m still pretty rubbish at outfit pics.
Long coat – Marks and Spencer Collection
Merino wool crew neck – Celtic and Co*
Skinny jeans – Marks and Spencer
Boots – Marks and Spencer Collection
Cat bag – Accessorize
I should start off by saying that part of this outfit is old news (I’m a firm believer that you can re-wear the clothes you own). You can probably buy similar this year, but you can never be sure. I’m a complete backpack convert and I like using my mini cat one at weekends (when I don’t need to carry around work). It’s from Accessorize, but I bought in 2016. I’m also wearing my long black coat, which first feature on my blog as part of this outfit. It’s a staple from M&S and I imagine you can get the exact same one or fairly similar right now. I like it because it’s shower proof, keeps me warm, but not too warm. If it’s cooler it’s the perfect coat for layering underneath as well. It’s also very smart, for work and date reasons!
The main event of this outfit is my brand new Celtic and Co Merino Wool Crew Neck. It’s a wonderfully comfortable jumper. It kept me toasty warm on that particular chilly Sunday. Whilst the sleeves are a little long, rolling them up was just fine. I think the jumper adds a bit of smartness to this causal Sunday Lunch Date outfit. I’m hoping it’ll see me through the season, but it’d be also light enough for those chillier spring days next year! It also got me some lovely complements.
So what’s your favourite item of clothing this autumn? Let me know in the comments,
