Mix Up Your Gin Serve with Popaball Party Bubbles | Gin Diaries

June 26, 2018

Everyone should know by now that I am an absolute gin fiend. I actually started the Gin Diaries section of my blog because I couldn’t not share my love for gin. Also I want to inspire non gin drinkers to give it a go.

Now I am a huge stickler for the Perfect Gin Serve. But also, I know that a gin and tonic isn’t the most interesting drink for a party. That’s where Popaball * come into play. They have created some exciting flavoured bubbles to add to gin – you just need to add a tablespoon of your preferred bubble flavour. Apple, strawberry, lemon or blueberry bubbles add a burst of fruity sweetness to your drink. Now they may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but they are perfect for a party!

The Popaball Bursting Bubbles Party Pack for Gin comes with chunky straws (think bubble tea). So you can catch the bubbles from the bottom of the glass to enjoy. Also if your gin and tonic is super fizzy, you can watch the bubbles slowly dance their way to the top of your glass! I think these would also be really fun in a gin cocktail too, next I want to try the strawberry ones with a Tom Collins. I think the sweetness of the strawberry would work with the citrus of the Tom Collins.

But this time I chose to enjoy just a gin and tonic. Picking the Sheffield Gin, which is wonderfully savoury to go with the citrus lemon Popaball bubbles. Now I am not a huge fan of bubble tea, but these bubbles worked well with a gin and tonic. I liked the lemony burst when I ate a bubble and the flavour didn’t overpower the gin too much. It made for a wonderfully refreshing heat wave G&T!

How do you like to jazz up a gin and tonic? Would you try Popaball bubbles to jazz up yours? Let me know in the comments,

P.S. Popaball sent me a sample to try out. As ever all words, photos and what not are my own and I only feature things I like and think will fit in with my readership.

I did not like gin but am beginning to like it more and more now that I am learning that you can mix different flavours to it. I love how you share great ideas on it, will give this a go next.

There’s lots of things you can do with gin, it might be that you don’t like the taste of tonic. Try it with Rose Lemonade.

Well I’ve never heard of being able to add bubbles to a drink so now I’m totally intrigued! They sound like a great idea for a party, I bet everyone would want to try them.

They’re like the bubble tea bubbles! A bit gimmicky but fun!

How fun are these? I love the idea of adding them to my gin, not like gin needs to be any more exciting but these are just fun! Would be ideal to crack out at the BBQ’s over summer too! Such a simple way to make a more interesting drink!

I feel like I’m being really thick but I can’t tell the difference? Are they like flavour drops or do they make it more fizzy? Not sure if it’s something I’d personally be bothered with but could be fun for a party! I’ve had things like prosecco flavourings but not sure about this…

They’re like bubble tea bubbles! The ones I used were flavoured with lemon 🙂
