Date Night Dinner at Al Bacio | Manchester

October 6, 2017

Today Ms M is back to tell you all about a wonderful date night her and Mr C went on. To a wonderful Italian restaurant in Manchester called Al Bacio.

Over to Ms M… A couple of weeks ago, I went to Al Bacio to try what they had to offer. I hadn’t been before so was excited to try a new place – and Italian, my favourite!

Al Bacio Wine

To drink, we “shared” a bottle of the Il Frascati. I say shared, guess who wasn’t driving home so got to enjoy most of it! A really beautiful bottle, not only in appearance, but also tasted great! Now, where do I find it outside the restaurant?

Al Bacio - Ribs Starter

Al Bacio - Salad

To start, I had the Costoletti di Maiale (ribs in BBQ sauce) and Mr C had the Prosciutto e Mozzarella. The ribs were amazing, I’d highly recommend them! The BBQ sauce was gorgeous – slightly citrusy and the meat fell off the bones. Superb! The salad was also lovely – really great presentation, I especially loved the cucumber twirls.

Al Bacio - pumpkin & butter

Al Bacio mushroom, truffle & parmesan

Al Bacio - fish ravioli

For mains, we had a selection of ravioli which were the day’s specials. We had a fish one, a parmesan, truffle and porcini mushroom one and a pumpkin and butter sauce one. My favourite was the pumpkin one. I am a complete sucker for pumpkin ravioli anyway, so that was always bound to win! All 3 were lovely and smelled amazing as they were brought to us. Always great to have truly fresh pasta, nothing beats it!

Al Bacio - Sausage Pasta

We also had a sausage and mushroom pasta that was topped with dough. I had no idea what they were bringing us (our entire main course was an entire surprise to us, just whatever our waiter recommended). We were brought a dish topped with dough and then they cut into it to reveal the mountain of pasta below! By this point, I was quite full, but really wanted to eat as much of it as I could as it really did taste amazing.

The service we had on that evening was also superb – the waiters really did choose some excellent dishes for us and were really attentive. I’d definitely recommend going with their suggestions for what is best, sometimes I feel it’s nice to have recommendations from those who live and breathe a restaurant.

Have you checked out Al Bacio? What would you order? Let me know in the comments,

I haven’t even head of Al Bacio, but it absolutely looks like my kind of restaurant. I love a good Italian.

We went about 3 weeks ago and had the same amazing meal. I didn’t even know Al Bacio existed but we’ll definitely go back.
