Feeling Festive with the November Degustabox | Review

December 15, 2016

I must admit I’m a little bit late with this month’s Degustabox post, apologies. To keep with the seasons, November’s box is a festive one.

For those of you who don’t know Degustabox is a food subscription box. Every month you get 11-13 foodie items, from new or existing brands. A great way to try things I find!

Festive Degustabox Drinks

There was an array of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks this month. With Gruffalo Apple Juice cartons (perfect for taking hiking I should add) and Sparkly J2O the soft drinks in this month’s box. I have to admit the J2O was a little sweet for my liking. Now we’ve had the The Good Cider before and I wasn’t a huge fan, don’t know if they’ve changed the recipe but I did like it more this time. Served with ice it was pretty refreshing. Lastly the Ahmad Tea in Strudel flavour, this was just a big no. I don’t really like flavoured teas at all so this was not for me at all.

Festive Degustabox Snacks

Sweet Treats

So we’ve had Butterkist recently, but I’ll let Degustabox off here as they are the new bags/flavours. I’ve recently shared my Butterkist Brownies Recipe, so check that out for what you can make with your popcorn! The Jules Butter Waffles didn’t last long and this is a picture of an empty box. Mr W is a HUGE fan. The Michel et Augustin Chocolate Cookie was tasty (I bagged this!) and Mr W  enjoyed the Broderick’s Bar.

Festive Degustabox Savoury Snacks

Savoury Snacks

To balance all the sweet we got some savoury snacks. I do like Piper’s Crisps already and this is a flavour I’ve not tried previously. Very tasty and went well with one of the Good Ciders! We had Ryvita Crackers in last Christmas’ box but these are new flavours. We’re saving them for the cheese board at Christmas.

Festive Degustabox Treats

Lastly we have some stock cupboard ingredients. We’ve had Hartley’s Glitter Jelly before but I did rather enjoy it. I’m going to attempt a boozy recipe over Christmas with it. The Spice Drops are incredibly useful for all our curry cooking. We weren’t so keen on the packet Bearnaise Sauce through, I prefer to make my own.

Overall Verdict

This month’s box was a little disappointing. Most of the products have featured in boxes before, almost the same as last year’s. I also feel that they have done so much better in more recent months, so this month is a bit of a let down. I also had problems with DPD who Degustabox use as delivery, which is a bit annoying. I’m hoping next month’s is a better experience!!

To see more check out my reviews of past boxes for more reasons to order. And if you like the look of the Degustabox I have a discount code for £7 off your first box. Just enter the code 4PM3L at the checkout. Let me know what you think if you order one! What would you like to try from this months box? Let me know in the comments,

Butterkist do a chocolate popcorn now? NEED THIS. The Ryvita crackers sound awesome too…I actually love Ryvita so much, haha.

It’s great popcorn, super tasty! I prefer the Ryvita crackers to normal Ryvita.

Glitter jelly! How fab. Never heard of that before. Thanks for sharing.

It’s great stuff, looks awesome when it’s set!

Ah these boxes are so cool! I’d never heard of them before this post. The chocolate popcorn looks right up my street but I’m such a fussy eater so I unfortunately think a lot of this would be wasted on me

I love J20 drinks a lot. Yummy looking items here.

I like them, but they are a bit sweet- I tend to mix them down with fizzy water!

I’m the opposite about tea, that Apple Strudel flavour sounds amazing! Mind you, in contrast I’m not a fan of traditional tea. LOVE the glitter jelly! What a fun dessert that could make!

Haha I am definitely a traditional tea person! The glitter jelly is awesome 🙂

That’s a shame you were a little disappointed as I would have enjoyed this months box, some really great products in this one for me!

It’s a great set of products, it’s more of shame that it was almost identical to last year’s November box.
