This month I was super excited when I received my Festive Degustabox. I knew it was going to be a good delivery this month before I even opened the box!
For those of you who don’t know, Degustabox is a monthly food subscription box (£12.99) in which a selection of different products from both new and established brands are delivered to your door each month! You can read about my previous Degustabox posts here.
This month, being party season and all (these came in handy as Christmas buffet offerings at work) we had Green & Black Olive Crackers and Cheddar & Cracked Black Pepper Flatbreads both from Ryvita. These were lovely with cheese, but also with salmon and even sundried tomatoes. I enjoyed and will be purchasing for parties of the future! We also got the Belvita Breakfast Soft Bakes, these are something that I have heard a lot about but had never tried. Sadly, these were far too sweet for me, but Mr W has demolished them. Apparently they make good breakfast on the go, but they’re really not for me!
I struggled grouping the next lot, so I’m writing about them in a random order… We got some amazing Jim Jams Chocolate Hazelnut Spread, which for those of you who are gluten intollerant should try as it’s gluten free compared to other brands. But it is also just simply delicious. Mr W has rather enjoyed coupling it with peanut butter on hot toast. Then there was a jar of British Baby Beetroot from Bourne & Wallis. I am not a beetroot fan, and Mr W isn’t massively either so this got given to the leftover food cupboard at work so it doesn’t go to waste! Another Christmassy condiment we were given is the Branston Orchard Fruit Chutney, I’m a lover of having chutney in cheese sandwiches, so when my current chutney runs out I’ll definitely be trying it!
A healthier snack option included in the box (possibly to help us remember fruit over the festive season??) is the Nim’s Pineapple & Mango Fruit Crisps, these are one of your five a day and perfect if you want a quick snack that is also nutritious. Almost linked here (somehow- what was I thinking when I took my photos??) is the Geeta’s Korma Curry Paste. I have to admit here, I like a hot curry, a korma doesn’t do it for me at all. So my mum, who is definitely a korma person will be gifted this when we head home next week!
I have to admit I jumped with joy when I saw the Hartley’s Strawberry Glitter Jelly, I had no idea that this existed and whilst it is just jelly, it’s glittery, which is amazing. Also included was a Hartley’s Black Cherry Jelly which is delicious, however Mr W isn’t a cherry fan, so more for me… Moving onto one of my favourite snacks to enjoy with a movie, Butterkist Popcorn! My favourite flavour we got was the Salted Caramel, but the sweet and salty was delicious too (I’m just sorry I didn’t realise I hadn’t taken close up pictures of these!!) We also got a little bar of Divine Raspberry Chocolate to enjoy. This one is 70% dark chocolate and this coupled with the raspberries was just wonderful with a cup of tea.
There’s always some drinks included in the Degustabox, this month we got a mini Baileys (Mr W instantly used this when hot chocolate making) and Rekorderlig Dry Apple Cider. Mr W enjoyed his Baileys and hot chocolate and I enjoyed a refreshingly cold cider. I found the Rekorderlig wasn’t as sweet as the flavoured ones, meaning I did enjoy it a bit more- although I’m yet to see them in the supermarket. We then also got the Teisseire Gourmet Drops in vanilla and caramel, you can add these to coffee to add taste however I used mine in hot chocolate which was delicious. The caramel one is pretty awesome!
As ever the festive Degustabox provided me some new food items to try out that I probably wouldn’t have normally and I seriously enjoyed them. If you’re interested in trying out this monthly food subscription box then you can use the code BLDEG15 to receive a £6 discount at the online checkout.
Let me know what you think of all the products included this month,
P.S. * I received the Degustabox to review, as ever all opinions are my own.
