Getting #MerrierTogether with MoonPig

December 6, 2018

I was fortunate enough the other week to be invited along to MoonPig’s Christmas Showcase in Leeds. It was my first proper taste of Christmas for the year and it seriously helped to get me in the festive mood!

Disclosure – Dr C was invited to this event. As ever all words, photos and opinions are her own.

Moonpig’s ethos this year is to “Unleash the caring instinct and cultivate the caring habit.” I think that’s something we can all get on board with, especially at this time of year. With that in mind the theme of the day was very much DIY and crafting Christmas. Showing people that you care by taking the time to make something is such brilliant way to make Christmas special without having to break the bank. Mulled wine in hand, Christmas music filling the air, it was time to get down to business and get crafty!

Wreath Making

Full disclosure – I’m not the most creative person in the world. So I was incredibly happy that our wreath making session came fully tutored. I really loved making this super cute wreath and I can’t wait to pop it up on my front door come Christmas time!

Cocktail Making

What’s Christmas without a few libations after all? We learned the art of making a truly great mojito. Then we got into the fun part. Putting our own spin on the classic and putting it to the taste test. I spruced mine up with some grapefruit juice instead of the traditional lime juice and it proved to be the winner! Decorating Santa sacks

This was initially the most nerve wracking task for me. But I found my flow in the end and created a Santa Sack for Dan. Now I’ve just got to fill it with presents! We decorated ours with fabric markers but you can pick up really sweet personalised ones from Moonpig.

Personalised Cards

Personalised cards are probably what most of us associate Moonpig with and they helped us create ones for our loved ones on the day. We all got the chance to get in a photobooth and get some pictures taken with Christmas props. I obviously put together a really soppy dorky card for Dan – which will be delivered to him just on time for Christmas. I have to admit that I’m a massive fan of Moonpig for their cards. Pretty much everyone I know has received one from me. Including MissPond herself!

Not content with giving us a wonderfully Christmas crafting day the lovely people at Moonpig sent us home with a goodie bag filled with gift ideas. The personalised mug is going to Dan’s house so I’ve got my very own mug when I’m there. We’re planning on giving the brownie making kit a go this week – wish us luck! There were also some super tasty looking cookies which I’m sure we’ll be sharing in the very near future!

I had such a great time getting into the festive mood with Moonpig. I’m so looking forward to just spending time with loved ones and embracing the Christmas spirit! Thanks so much to Jennie from Search Labs for inviting us, and the Moonpig for putting on such a perfect Christmas event. How are you getting ready for Christmas this year? Will you be getting some personal gifts for friends and family this year? Let me know in the comments,

Love Moonpig – but I hadn’t realised they had such a wide range of gifts too. It looks like Dr C had a top time wreath making, making cocktails 🙂
