Catching Up Over Burgers at Burger Shop | Worcester

May 15, 2018

Last weekend some good friends of mine, Dr C and Ms S – who you may know as my guest bloggers, were visiting Worcester. Whilst we waited for Ms S, Dr C and I headed to Burger Shop with Dr W for some tasty burger goodness!

I’m already a huge fan of Burger Shop, as is Dr W. So I knew we had to take Dr C there, also it’s conveniently so close to the station, perfect for waiting for Ms S to arrive! I won’t lie, writing this post is making me hungry all over again! So what did we pick…

To start things off I got myself a gin and tonic. It’s just standard right? At Burger Shop they stock local gin brand Chase, which isn’t my favourite, but it’s a robust gin for a meal that’s got lots of flavours going on. The menu itself is quite small, but don’t let that put you off. The menu has some cracking staples, The Worcester Blue being a core favourite of mine. But then they have a rotating specials board, which I love, because I manage to time my visit for shake ups on the board. They usually have a meat and a veggie burger and side on the board, so veggies you’re covered too! In fact vegans get some great options too, they also do gluten free.

Dr W ordered the Farmer’s Tom Beef Burger but doubled it up and added bacon. He said he did mildly regret the giant burger, as they’re good and juicy, it kinda was a challenge to eat! But he gave me a bite and it was good! On the side he went with a special, the Salt Beef Croquettes. These were wicked and I was only allowed one. The spicy dip they came with was immense.

For Dr C and I, we went with the Kimchi Burger from the specials. Oh wow. It was SO messy. I think the smoky mustard mayo was lost in the whole thing, but I did super appreciate the hot sauce. It wasn’t my favourite of the specials, I won’t lie. The amazing curried potato vegan one from last summer will always be forever in my mind! But it’s definitely worth trying. To keep with the messy theme, I went with the Sticky BBQ Wings, which were BANGING. Oh my, they were crispy, tender, tasty and perfect. I could’ve had more. I demand if you visit and eating meat is your thing, you order them!

Overall it was a wonderfully casual and chilled out catch up dinner. We weren’t rushed even though the food is more fast food than restaurant style. I really enjoyed my dinner, and my oh my those wings were incredible! We all left feeling pretty satisfied and also left Ms S with serious dinner envy. So next time I promise to take her along. Oh I also recommend the sage mayo, get some of that to dunk your fries in, it’s crazy good.

Have you been to Burger Shop yet? (If not why not?!) Let me know in the comments,

I love Burger Shop! I had eaten at the original Rule of Tum in Hereford (well, a pop up in Hay on Wye) a couple of years ago, so was thrilled when they opened Burger Shop literally next door to my office. 🙂 Glad you’ve had a positive experience as well, and you’re right, they’re great at catering for gluten free and vegan.

I still need to go to Rule of Tum’s The Book Shop in Hereford! Although have been to the other Burger Shop. I just can’t get enough – I think they’re great.

I love burgers that are really juicy, as so often they are overcooked in the UK. I have to admit the food looks incredible! A trip to Worcester is needed asap

I am always on the hunt for a juicy burger – it tends to be the independents that do well. Worcester is a great place to visit – I recommend it.

I have family in Worcester and we’ve not been up for a while but Burger Shop looks a much better alternative than the standard chains we usually end up in with the kids.

Most definitely! They even have a kids menu.

I had to stop reading this post half way through to shout to my partner that we need to visit Worcester! I love burgers that are messy, it reminds me of old school Almost Famous and the sides look incredible too!
    Thanks for sharing.

You must it’s a great city. The burgers are a lot like AF just a little less gimicky 🙂

As someone who doesn’t eat gluten, I have given up on enjoying burgers unless I make them myself. Burgers Shop if defiantly getting a new customer. Seems like the perfect place to indulge.
